As a newly graduated nurse with us at Akademiska sjukhuset, you will have varied tasks and a safe and educational start in your new profession. Department 1 has a stable nursing group where you, as a newly graduated nurse, will have the opportunity to grow into your new professional role alongside experienced and wise colleagues. Sometimes the step between education and working life can feel large, and to give you the opportunity to grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us at Akademiska sjukhuset.

KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for you as a newly graduated nurse employed in Region Uppsala, aimed at sharpening your clinical skills, networking with other recent graduates, and having reflection time together with experienced nurses. Our Operations

Psychiatry Department 1 is an acute department with full-day care that is part of the psychosis care chain within the field of psychiatry at Akademiska sjukhuset. We care for individuals with psychotic disorders and conduct psychosis investigations. We have a close collaboration with outpatient care and municipalities throughout the region. We are constantly developing cooperation with other psychiatric specialties in the hospital. We work health-promoting and have created a workplace with a cohesive team with diverse backgrounds and competencies. We have implemented a person-centered approach with interesting areas of responsibility and development opportunities. We have regular nursing supervision for the nursing group, an ongoing wellness project, and a “Journal Club” run by a specialist nurse. We also participate in research on recovery, where patient education in groups and individually is ongoing.

We are looking for you who, together with other employees, want to drive and develop care in Psychiatry Department 1. Your Qualifications and Competence

We are looking for you who are a nursing student starting T6. You are interested in psychiatry and want to start working in Department 1 after completing your degree. We place great emphasis on personal suitability such as personal maturity, initiative, high flexibility, good collaboration skills, and being skilled in building relationships. You have a flexible and curious attitude and good collaboration skills.

We Offer

We offer you a permanent position as a nursing assistant. Upon submission of your license, the employment will be converted to a permanent position as a nurse.

You commit to working 12 months with us after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant during your studies, but it is not a requirement.

Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with a duty obligation around the clock, so-called rotation work. Before employment, a check from the police's suspicion and criminal record register will be conducted.
